Louis Vuitton brought its spring/summer 2022 womenswear show to Shanghai.
Months after debuting its spring/summer 2022 womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton brought the show over to Shanghai, China for a spin-off. Recreating the chandelier-ridden runway of the original, the maison presented all original 43 looks with the addition of 19 more looks as well as three handbags specifically designed by Nicolas Ghesquière for the show.
Moncler tops sustainability ranking for the third consecutive time.
For the third consecutive year, Moncler has once again topped the the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World and Europe in the ‘Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods’ sector. The brand scored an 89 out of a possible 100 based on a number of economic, environmental and social responsibility criteria, which are then analysed by S&P Global. “We continue to work with our suppliers to develop materials with a lower environmental impact. We’ve started recycling our nylon scraps and our down in a circular economy perspective; in a few months we will become carbon neutral at our own sites around the world, we have defined science-based objectives for reducing carbon emissions and we’re proceeding with the elimination of all conventional single-use plastic,” comments chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini.
Puma and Maison Kitsuné drops their second collaborative collection.
After a first collaborative effort earlier this year, Puma and Maison Kitsuné are back with a second season of Puma x Maison Kitsuné. The collection this time around follows the debut’s minimally designed collection combined with both French and Japanese design influences. The result is an earth-toned collection complemented by two sneaker designs — the Suede Crepe and the Mirage Sport — that capture the spirit of both brands.
The Puma x Maison Kitsuné collection is now available at physical and online Puma stores, maisonkitsune.com, as well as select retailers.
Alexander McQueen helps supports arts education in London.
As part of its already existing craft-centric programmes starting during the pandemic, Alexander McQueen has officially announced its support for A Team Arts Education. The London-based organisation aims to support youths wanting to enter arts and design careers, with a focus in London’s diverse East End. Alexander McQueen’s support entails financially sponsoring the organisation’s activities and programmes, and extending the workshops and classes that both parties have already collaborated on since 2020. Live experiences with the Alexander McQueen design teams will also be incorporated into the list of programmes.

It’s been almost two years since we’ve actually partied and perhaps, 2021 may be the time to once again do so in more physical capacities. Burberry takes over Jeju Island with a massive installation.
A topographic mirror structure has surfaced on Jeju Island as part of Burberry’s inspiration pop-ups across the the globe, showcasing the brand’s latest outerwear collection. Surrounded by the natural landscape of Jeju Island at the foot of the Halla mountain, the ‘Imagined Landscape’ installation consists of experiential spaces within, including a room where the physical and digital collide — visitors are able to interact with three cinematic films, each by artists Maotik, Cao Yuxi, Lia Jiayu. There’s also the debut of Thomas’s Cafe in Korea, where JL Dessert Bar’s pastry chef, Justin Lee, has crafted treats based on local influences as well as references that allude to Burberry.
