Once again, this Yuletide season sees the city area decked with shoppers and Christmas lights. From festive Christmas trees to little snow domes, there’s plenty to see if you take a stroll down our iconic shopping street on a balmy evening. But perhaps, the latest striking installation would be a giant red bear installation in front of Raffles City Singapore.
If you managed to catch a glimpse of it over the Black Friday Weekend, you might have seen the Christmas centrepiece standing proud at the cross junction of Stamford Road. Fans would recognise it as a BE@RBRICK 8000%, a collectable block-style figurine and a popular choice in the collectable toy scene. ActionCity, a pop culture art and collectibles brand has collaborated with Raffles City to put it up, and it holds the record as world’s tallest BE@RBRICK standing at a whopping 5.6 metres.
Other Instagram-worthy photo opportunities from the Love, BE@ARBRICK Christmas campaign include the all-new Raffles City BE@RBRICK Candy Cane 2000%, another mega-sized installation located next to the BE@RBRICK 8000%. If you happen to duck into the shopping mall and spend $300 in a single receipt, you can redeem a miniature Candy Cane collectible. Alternatively, $100 in a single receipt will get you a set of BE@RBRICK gift wrappers.
If you have some time on your hands, head to Raffles City’s Garden Court at level one where there will be a special spotlight collection by Los Angeles-based artist Steven Harrington. Expect a melange of funky art, apparel, merchandise and a special edition BE@RBRICK.
The Love, BE@RBRICK Christmas Campaign will run from 12 November to 26 December 2021.
