2011 by 5SOS

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock the past week or two, you may have noticed that 5SOS has officially hit their 10 year anniversary. The Australian boy band — consisting of frontman Luke Hemmings, guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood and drummer Ashton Irwin — formed in late 2011 and have since released four studio albums together. So in celebration of a decade of making music, they released their latest single reminiscing and reflecting on their past 10 years. Singing of the good ol’ days of 2011 where they didn’t overthink and times were simpler, 5SOS dedicated this one to their fans for the past decade they had together. *Cue Twitter fans swooning.*

Merry Christmas by Ed Sheeran and Elton John

It is finally the month of December, which means the countdown to Christmas has officially begun. To get yourself into the festive mood, we say maybe stream this collaboration between our favourite English musicians – Ed Sheeran and Elton John. Announced in an adorable Love Actually cue card style posted onto Instagram, Sheeran teased their song Merry Christmas and encouraged fans to pre-save it. And true to his word, their little teaser did sound chock full of sleigh bells ringing, which is sure to amp up the festive atmosphere during your Christmas gatherings and parties this holiday season. 

Little Things by ABBA

The legendary quartet has released their new Christmas single on Friday, a sweet, twinkly number just in time for the festive season. Alongside the single, ABBA is also releasing a music video to celebrate the Swedish pop group’s first ever Christmas song. Anticipation is at an all time high, as it also marks the first video the group is releasing after their 40-year hiatus.

Just Look Up by Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi

The world is once again reminded of Ariana Grande’s incredible vocal range as she takes the silver screen for the upcoming film – Don’t Look Up. In the upcoming satirical science fiction, about two astronauts warning mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy earth, Grande plays a pop star. Which is fitting, since she collaborates with Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) on the song, Just Look Up, as part of the film’s soundtrack. The movie comes out on 10 December, and will be available for streaming on Netflix from 24 December onwards — a fun film to watch over the Christmas season. 

I Only Want To Be With You by Birdy

Skinny Love singer Birdy is back with more haunting melodies and wistful romance. This time, the 25-year-old English covered Dusty Springfield’s I Only Want To Be With You. For those familiar, Springfield’s hit single was upbeat and fun, but in her cover, Birdy put her unique sound onto it and stripped it down, giving the song a whole new meaning and breathed new life into the sixties classic.
