Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet showed up to Cannes in style, Phoebe Philo returning to fashion, and more

Style icons Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet convened in Cannes.

We only need to thank Wes Anderson for bringing together Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet. The pair made an appearance at the recent Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Anderson’s The French Dispatch. And not only were they both visibly adoring fans of each other, they arrived in impeccable style like the icons that they are. Swinton took to the red carpet in a colour-blocked fit by Haider Ackermann (complete with sequinned sleeves) while Chalamet rocked up in a Tom Ford suit that was anything but staid.

Phoebe Philo is set to return to fashion.

Since departing Céline (now CELINE), Phoebe Philo‘s presence from the fashion industry has been sorely missed. Now, the fashion designer has announced that she’s slated to return with her very own fashion brand, and one that’s backed by French luxury conglomerate LVMH. While there’s no absolute plan of when the eponymous label will be launched, more details are reportedly said to be released in early 2022.

Local brand Tropick launches loungewear.

Singapore-based Tropick has just launched its next thoughtfully created product: a loungewear set. And like its debut performance shirt, the polo-and-shorts loungewear set — called ‘Lounger Line’ — was designed with comfort in mind. Made from cotton towelling, the set has a thoroughly velvety feel and looks polished enough to be worn even during Zoom calls. The polo shirt and shorts each retail for $125 and are available on tropick.com and VPlabel.

KAWS x Sacai officially launches.

Sacai’s Chitose Abe has been busy of late. Right off the heels of her haute couture debut with Jean Paul Gaultier, Abe has just released the much-awaited Sacai collaboration with KAWS for the autumn/winter 2021 season. There’s everything one would expect from a collaboration between the two — the unmistakable ‘xx’ KAWS logo, vibrant colours and prints, and of course, Sacai’s masterful and signature use of contrasting fabrications. The KAWS x Sacai collection is now available at the Sacai Hilton boutique and Dover Street Market Singapore.

New colours for adidas and Prada.

adidas and Prada continues its partnership with the release of two new colourways of its most recent collaborative effort, the A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 sneakers. Inspired by its sailing heritage, the new grey colourway is a lifestyle version of the original that was created for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team. The second all-black iteration is an homage to the heritage of both brands, with a subtle tonal design that’s highlighted by a red Prada stripe right at the heel. Both colourways will be available from 19 July 2021.

Tod’s Graffiti collection features artwork by creative director Walter Chiapponi.

Tod’s creative director Walter Chiapponi has a habit of ending handwritten notes with a doodle of himself. It’s become part of his signature that it’s now the basis of a new capsule collection for the Italian brand. The Tod’s Graffiti collection draws inspiration from both Chiapponi’s penchant for doodling as well as the graffiti masters the likes of Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Splashing handwritten artwork across the Gomminos, Tabs sneakers, and T Timeless bags, the collection is a celebration of both the values that graffiti art represents, as well as craftsmanship.
