There’s just no way you won’t have any fun in Kampong Glam. The charming neighborhood is doused with a myriad of old-new shops, local eateries, and steeped in Malay heritage. But apart from historical mosques (that are common sites of attraction) and seriously good nasi padang, lies a slew of narrow lanes that offer something different at every nook and cranny. In fact, it’s where Singaporean comedian Jocelyn Chia did her first standup, and now she’s a mainstay in New York where she lives.

During her recent (and rare) visit to Singapore, Chia took us around her favourite hideout — where she managed to eat her facial, a meal made out of chocolate, and well, her own face. Everything will make better sense once you’ve watched the video above, we promise.
