1. Billie Eilish broke her nail… in the most extreme way possible.
Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, Eilish proves that there is a spectrum of possibility when it comes to ruining your mani. In her case? “Was trying to bite my garlic bread and bit my nail instead,” she wrote, attaching an image of the ragged nail in question. Amazing. No word yet as to if her manicurist will be able to fix the damage, though it’s safe to say that this is one occurrence we won’t be forgetting about any time soon. But hey, at least she got some good food out of this. And on that note…

2. The Rock shows off his nail-painting skills via Instagram.
The pro wrestler, actor, and producer flaunted his chops by painting his daughter’s nail a stylish slate grey. As per the picture, he even had the foresight to prepare a nail file, cotton balls, and nail polish remover for the full experience. “She knows who to come to for the best mani in town,” he wrote. “At least these calloused dinosaur hands are good for something.” Toxic masculinity? Dwanye ‘The Rock’ Johnson doesn’t know her.

3. M.A.C. Cosmetics has confirmed a long-term partnership with Whitney Houston’s estate.
The collection is tentatively set to launch in 2022, and will be created in support of Houston’s upcoming biopic where users will be able to utilise the goods to recreate her iconic makeup looks. The brand’s Chief Marketing Officer, Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois, revealed in a statement to Popsugar that the line will be versatile and multi-faceted.

“Just like the depths of her vocal range, she was a true beauty and M.A.C-lover who could seamlessly go from a natural ‘no-makeup-makeup look’ to full glam and bold colors without missing a beat,” he stated. “We are honored to support Whitney’s upcoming biopic and to continue to help tell her beauty story in many moments to come.”

4. Rosalia has launched a new collection with M.A.C. Cosmetics.
It comprises a bold new lipstick in four spicy hues; a liquid lippie variant; nail adornments; nail lacquers; a face palette; and a 10-pan eyeshadow palette. Fans are, naturally, flocking to the site to get their paws on the limited edition goods — so we say act fast and get ‘em credit cards out should you be interested in any of ‘em. Sell-out status is pretty much guaranteed, at this point.

5. Le Labo has created a fresh new scent with local womenswear brand, Something to Hold.
Named Ambrette 9, it is based mainly upon the elusive ambrette seed — “the only musky scent made by nature itself.” The fragrance was spritzed on all Something to Hold packages over the last month, which led to a series of inquiries from customers with regard to its curious and addictive aroma. What’s better: An Ambrette 9 vial will be gifted with every Something to Hold purchase throughout the month of October. A good deal, indeed.

6. Dior Beauty will be launching an online boutique in Singapore.
Mark your calendars for 7 October. From then on, users will be able to purchase Dior skincare, fragrances, candles and more in the comfort of their own homes. To sweeten the deal — complimentary shipping, engraving services, and samples will be offered for a limited time. Get in on this, stat.
