As the world tuned in for the electrifying spectacle of Super Bowl LVIII, it wasn’t just touchdowns and halftime shows stealing the spotlight. Beyoncé has surprised the audience with a bombshell announcement: ‘RENAISSANCE: Act II’ is on the horizon.
Queen Bey teased the project during a Verizon commercial that aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday. The ad shows Beyoncé attempting unsuccessfully to break Verizon’s 5G feature by performing ‘internet-breaking’ skits — from opening a lemonade stand to BeyoncAI, BarBey (spin on Barbie) and even performance in space, but the only thing that could actually break the internet is… Her new album! “OK, they ready. Drop the new music!” she says in the end of the commercial.
But the surprises didn’t end there. Straight after the commercial aired she has dropped two new singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” on the streaming services. Beyoncé also posted a video on her Instagram featuring a snippet of new music. As we can guess, Act II is focused on country style music. There were few clues from the artist, like her Western-inspired look at the Grammys, completed with white cowboy hat.
The second part of her Renaissance album trilogy will drop on March 29.
