The Fashion Awards 2023, one of the most anticipated events of the Fashion calendar, took place in London this week. Every year The Fashion Awards (presented by Pandora as a principal partner this time) honours the most creative and influential individuals of the fashion world and raises funds for the BFC Foundation that supports the industry in a variety of ways from mentoring to grant giving initiatives.
Royal Albert Hall’s red carpet was swarming with top models, designers and celebrities including Anne Hathaway, Kate Moss, Lewis Hamilton, Amal Clooney and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Northern Irish fashion designer Jonathan Anderson won Designer Of The Year Award, juggling his roles at his own brand, JW Anderson, and as creative director of the Spanish house Loewe.
Maximilian Davis and Martine Rose became British Designers of the Year for their consistent creative work at Salvatore Ferragamo as a womenswear designer and Martine Rose’s menswear, accordingly.
The Award for Outstanding Achievement went to Valentino Garavani, the founder of Valentino. Sarah Burton was honoured with Special Recognition Award for her devotion to Alexander McQueen heritage for 26 years. Chopova Lowena and Bianca Saunders received the New Establishment awards in womenswear and menswear categories.
