Just like Alexander McQueen, Kering-owned Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta continues with its out-of-fashion-week showing for its upcoming collection. Salon 03 is set to debut in a live runway setting — previous collections have been shown privately to a select group before unveiling them to the public months later — and this time, Detroit, Michigan is the city of choice.

There’s been no official release as to why Bottega Veneta has chosen to show in Detroit. While it definitely isn’t one of the first few places one would relate to fashion, the city has longstanding ties to music, specifically techno and Motown. Creative director Daniel Lee is said to be a music fan too, so perhaps therein lies the reason for quite an atypical choice.
