Bottega Veneta’s new campaign stars A$AP Rocky and Kendall Jenner doing their “everyday things”.
The luxury fashion house took an intriguing turn by licensing real-time photos of Rocky for their campaign, catching him in everyday scenarios, from errands and shopping to dining with girlfriend Rihanna, all while wearing head-to-toe Bottega. This unique approach, according to Rocky, aims to “bridge that cap” between celebrities and the candid photographers who capture them, presenting “a creative trifecta” alongside Bottega Veneta’s creative director Matthieu Blazy.
“Throughout history, there has always been a funny relationship between photographers and celebrities,” Rocky said. “Even down to the rights and the usage of photos, and the tabloid hustle, there’s always seemed to be a disconnection between famous people and the photographers who follows [and] film them. While certain celebrities call paparazzi on themselves, other celebrities might get confrontational with photographers. While a very small few, such as myself, don’t mind, as long as they post the good angles, of course” .
Later, the brand also released paparazzi-turned-campaign images of Kendall Jenner hitting the streets. Do you remember her look with oversized grey and beige cable knit jumper dress accomponied by grocery bags and a bunch of sunflowers? Or maybe the one while taking a stroll through Beverly Hills with her Doberman, Pyro, wearing Bottega trench coat in a gray wool twill? Those are all part of the campaign.
